Naked or not, help me decide....

Well......



Ive sold my loverly 'cat and need a new bike, and I really dont know what to get, I fancy something a little more upright, quite fancy a naked bike and preferably 1000cc.



Oh and its has to match my boots. Joking BTW.



Cant afford a new one being a poor old NHS slave :(



Im also 5ft 11 so dont want anything too small..........



Could do with some thoughts and ideas pleasey

Hi Ellie. It was the naked thing that brought me here.

But now I'm here I realised it isn't what I thought and I don't have proper suggestions.

my mate has the Triumph Street triple but the sporty 'R' model - its taller than std model i cant even get my toes to floor (im 5'3")

speed triple probably available with same upgrade

she's quick on it too!

I'm not a naked man myself - I like at least a little cover, but of the above I might go for the Triumph or the Aprilia.

Well I test rode the Street triple and its abit of a girls bike and I felt I would be very quickly bored of it, Nicks got a Speed so I can ride that anytime I want too for a small fee[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] , plus his is new and mine wouldnt be so I would look like the poor relation [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]



However, I test rode the Z1000 and got back with a huge grin on my face and wanted to go 'Woo Hoo' but remained restrained!



Only thing that puts me off is that I loved the 2008 model but cant quite afford one that new.



CB1000R Is loverly but too pricey still



Don't like the Monster but LOVE the Tuono, in fact that was hands down a favourite of mine, love the vibrating, ''God of Thunder'' sound of a twin....but again put off by Aprillias horrendous reputation.

ah yes but ladies come with additional bumpers unlike men
as for a bike why naked? they just do not float my boat its like the manufactureers have gone " there, theres the frame heres the wheels oh and the engine thats it tea time ive had enough". no style. but thats just me. i have never seen a naked bike i have liked, and come to think of it or a semi faired version.

naked bikes are great I do have a soft spot for them, very engaging bikes, this one might be of interest, compact, comfortable, ability to carry stuff easily and probably pretty nifty engine to
annnnd will do up to 8..........................mph

To each their own, but the z1000 and Speed Triple look mean and sound awesome plus 135 BHP and mega fun to ride.

Yes I looked at them first but have been put off tbh Paul, I LOVE twins but Aprilia have a poor reputation for getting parts.

on a note actually related to the bikes not me being an arse, I would go out for the monster personally, very comfortable (the 800cc 796 version), very very fast the kind of screaming like a loon fast and a noise to rival anything in my books, the strumpet was good and very smooth, but lacked something over the duke

it is personal preference, certainly cant knock the bike theres nothing wrong with it and the triple cylinder motor is a beaut but just didnt seem as involving as the duke, and dukes have got far more reliable to.

one thing to note with triumphs is the finishes on the bike, the owner of the riding school I trained with after 11 months had flaking paint and surface rust on parts, hopefully though with the newer bikes this has been sorted but worth considering

OR one of these, not a Harley engine, it is Buells own and liquid cooled so it doesn't sound like a tractor and pulls VERY well (I still prefer the fist one though)
