Another attendee, John Armitage is joining us. He lives in Cheltenham and is staying with us for the 2 nights, I'm sure quite a few of you know him, he has been on quite a few of our runs. He used to run a couple of BMs but currently runs a Kwak and a Triumph explorer. Chicken Tim has suggested that seeing as quite a few attendees are coming a fair distance it would be a good idea to have a run out on the Friday afternoon, perhaps to Whitby and or Scarborough or similar. Agreements or other suggestions please post up. Is Cheltenham not too far from you Tel, might be a plan to ride up together, just a thought. Tim and Christian have now decided to stay for the 2 nights, I think they were worried about missing out on a piss up. Sept. seems a long way away but will soon come round. Any more for anymore, there is still room at the Golden Lion. Come on the more the merrier.

'T'is about 120 miles south of me Tez, and depends on his route of choice heading up whether he would want to hook up for the journey north. But yeah, I'd appreciate the company on the ride in left thumb up

On an off topic . . . How goes yer Herr/Frau Beamer ? How are you getting along with it ? . . .
Had a wee problem with mine just recently fuming
They loaned me an R1200R courtesy bike for the weekend. Same engine as ours, geared slightly differently, has "normal" front forks and is of course completely naked. Great fun in the backwoods, bloody horrible on motorways and over long distances Shocked

Sorry to hear of your BM problems, there was a recall on mine for a revised clutch master cylinder, but other than that its been trouble free. Must say I'm really enjoying it, done 7,500 miles on it so far. its as economical as the CBR returning almost 60mpg. Back to S&T John was of the opinion that to make such a long journey worthwhile he would want 2 days rideouts, which is why we are considering riding out to the east coast on the Friday afternoon. If you or anyone else fancy this (it would obviously mean leaving fairly early) please post up, and I'll give you Johns tel. no. and arrangements. Chicken Tim, Christian, Bob & Pete, and myself are up for it
Cheers the noo Terry

Ah I see.

I'll run the concept passed the grown-up trouser wearer. This will necessitate an amendment to the leave application form and quite possibly a pocket-money augmentation Shocked

That's brilliant Davie, haven't seen you since last year. Nearer the time let me know your eta, and as long as its not too late I'll come up and have a pint with you. Presume you booked a single, if any more put their name forward would you mind sharing if it became necessary?

Terry, I've booked a room Thursday-Sun. It's single occupancy double, so if there is a shortage of accommodation we can look at sharing.

Friday morning I'll probably pootle up to Richmond and pop into Alt-Berg, be free in the afternoon for the ride-out

I'm not going there for boots Davie, I'll be walking in wearing a pair of theirs. More an excuse visit, might get a tin of Leidergris boot polish and some laces and chancing my luck that they may buff mine up, last of the big spenders but when in Yorkshire Wink If nothing else having a glimpse of the factory through the window is worth it.

I'd suggest you have a look on their website for the range they have as chances are very few boots will be on display - they are made to order, usually a 6 week lead time. Even if you wanted to walk out with boots I very much doubt you'd be able to.

I could email them and ask for a fitting appointment, say 10:30 so you'd know exactly what to order if you do at a later date - I'll also ask if they'd do some magic on mine.

Steve, Davie, they usually have a load of the 'Roadrunner' boots available off the shelf. These aren't made to measure but are a great boot.

For the other boots, they will normally do a fitting if you just walk in and wait.

Cheers,

Chris

Another one, Ray has decided to join us. Not everyone will know Ray, he's one of the blue rinse brigade from the Blackpool area, just been on the Big Mac with us, just like me he's a kindly old gent, and rides a bike pretty good. I think that's about 14 of us now, so come on get your names down, there's still room at the inn. A nice round figure of 20 would be ideal.
