Broad feet

Who of you has got wide feet, looking at some new boots but have tried A/stars, TCX, RST and the size I try is great but too narrow, If I go up a size they will be too big.
I'm only a size 7/41

Any advice!!!

Depends what sort of thing your after. I have wide feet, I'm a size 10 but have to wear an 11. I've tried a few different brands but so far the best fitting have been from the Black range on ghostbikes.com. they're only cheap boots though so might not be what your wanting

The Altbergs might be the most sensible buy.
A bit on the expensive side initially, but could last for years if you look after them.

I have a couple of pairs of 'bike' boots which turned out to be overpriced garbage and spent £200 in total on them, years apart.
The 1st pair turned out to be as waterproof as Charmin bog roll and the 2nd pair wasn't much better.

(for the last five years or so I've just used my Cat work boots (Holton), which have proven to be more waterproof, despite not having a full bellows tongue...unlike the other two pairs of leaky cardboard garbage previously mentioned..)

Already tried these too!!! Again too narrow. I was in the shop & it was them who said to try TCX!!!

You know what they say...buy cheap, buy twice (and you'll still be back at square 1).

I'm now an owner of altbergs. Only been out in them twice since I got them for my birthday but I'm happy with them.

Not cheap but quality and waterproof and should last.
Worth getting the recommended waterproofing wax stuff too.

If your feet are uniquely shaped you might want to consider getting them fitted rather than buying them off the shelf.
They are based in middle earth (Yorkshire) and can accommodate all shapes and sizes of hobbitses tootsies I'm led to believe.

If you go down that line you can subscribe to some email on their website and get a discount voucher you can use immediately ..... Not sure if it'll work on a fitting service though.

I had issues finding boots that would fit, not only having clown sized feet I have a shin guard on my leathers and none of the brand name boots would fit.

Stopped over in Richmond and had a fitting at Altberg, they were more than I had paid for boots before but in the time I've owned them I'm quids in by outlasting my previous two pair of cheaper boots

It did for me, just have to tell them about it though when you order.

The LederGris wax is meant for the boots, I wouldn't dream of putting anything else on - tin isn't expensive. Boots have remained waterproof.

My first set of Altbergs lasted over 20 years, they are still waterproof, but looking a little tatty now, so bought a new pair 6 months ago.

At nearly 4 times that age you are still impressively waterproof Terry....ya tattie

Can't figure out whether that's a complement or a kick in the nuts, ah well its nearly xmas, so either way, its ok.
