I've been staring at the bike for over a week debating what to do with it so I think it's about time to part ways.


It's a black, de-stickered '97 T-Cat with 33k on the clock

It's had a full engine rebuild to replace the 2nd gear (in another thread) and done 600 miles since

Stainless down pipe

New rear tyre and sprocket with about 50 miles on both

Aside from this it's standard

Bad things:
Snapped steering lock
Shredded ignition wiring
Few scratches on fairing
Couple cracks on screen
Scratched clock surround
Paint chipped/peeled on tank
Age related scratches and cracks on bodywork

I'm wanting to keep the engine, wheels and forks but the rest is free to go, although I will let them go if a decent price is offered.

I'm also after a space-frame type frame (something like a cb750) as all the proceeds will be going towards a custom build :-)

You sure you don't want to sell the engine? I could ride to yours and we could swap out and you could have my old one? 30000 on the clocks but as yours did jumps out of second. Cant afford to have the bike off the road, so cant spend the little spare time I have splitting the engine to replace the gears. It would take me about a week otherwise.

i'd be interested in the clock surround plastic, the plastics that go under the bars(that cover the air feed tubes to the air box) the front mud guard and the top fairing support bracket(the bits the fairing and mirrors bolt into)

I could do with down pipes and and clutch lever bracket

oh, and the pillion foot rests/mounts if not scratched to shizne.

Just seen this is from May, Maybe changed his mind, Have to source an engine elsewhere. I have some of the parts you guys are after, ill dig them out tonight and messge you both with pictures. If you want the parts make an offer.

Get a new battery, don't go second hand, you can pick them up cheap (around £25) don't know how long it will last but should get a year out of it as it will be covered by warranty

Yeah i plan on doing but if you have one with abit of juice still in it that your willing to let go for next to zero then id take it also new thing to the list i need front brake calipers as now as mine are officially fucked

Off the top of my head I know I have a pair of calipers, clutch lever bracket, a couple of clutch levers, tank, pet cock, ignition barrel and key, radiator, horn and shield, smaller fairing plastics, yoke, footpegs and passenger pegs, complete loom, ECU, expansion bottle, seat (needs recovering)throttle grip, both switch gears, headlight running light, thermostat plus others

No forks or batteries (other than AA, AAA etc)

Might have to grab the clutch lever bracket and the front calipers of you then maybe grab a few things in the future (really short of funds)

not a problem at all, I can dig them out and send you a picture. what's wrong with your calipers?

Please that would be magic with a price you would like to and there all super seized up i spent 2 hours before and i only managed to even move 1 piston.

I did get the piston out but the seal came out without me realising then when i put the piston back in i cant make enough pressure to get it out again so im giving up on them.

I'm not into ripping people off and to be honest yours could probably be rebuilt as long as the pistons are not pitted on the seal side. How about if you send yours to me and ill try to get them apart and rebuild them for you? I have the tool to get the blue spots out. Ill strip them, see what needs replacing, get a price and let you know before rebuilding. Your looking between £70-£120 for a pair of second hand ones and they will probably need rebuilding anyway. To rebuild them it will cost you only parts and p&p both ways, I wont charge for rebuilding them.

Failing that you can have the ones i've got for £70 including p&p.

If your heading up north then that's the wrong way, I'm south of Leicester. I'll PM you my address and number. Hermes is probably better for postage as well.
