Clicking noise! Empty Clicking noise!

Post  Ajsfazer100 Wed Sep 12 2018, 15:39

So....

I've washed and cleaned the bike today (they were filthy) and I have turned it on and there appears to be a clicking noise which is coming from the front of the engine.

It sounds like a very fast click which is coming from somewhere towards the front of the engine block. Now I have had a the Fzs 600 (a year later 1999 model) and that had a problem with the cam chain tensioner but that sounded more like a chain ringing.

It is more prominent at slower RPM and quieter at higher RPM although that could be down to the noise of the engine and exhaust etc drowning it out.

I can only describe the click as like like some form of roatating clicker almost?

Any help suggestions would be greatly received.

Thanks
Alex

Could be a leak at one of the exhaust header-to-cylinder head joints.

Check you don't have a loose spark plug, that was the cause of mine clicking. Thought is was a blown exhaust gasket till the plug 'blew' out whilst at some speed Shocked Even then it wasn't obvious what had happened.
